In the heat of battle, it is particularly important to be as fast and efficient as possible. This is not just about the act of shooting and defending, either.
Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Warzone players are having an especially difficult time when it comes to the seemingly simple act of picking up items.
By looting a fallen enemy or box on the battlefield, players want to do it as fast as they can. When you already have good ammunition, it helps to be able to judiciously take only the essentials and then re-cover immediately.
It seems like Warzone players are having trouble being able to select exactly what they want. Instead, they are grabbing things that they don’t necessarily need, just because they’re all bundled up.
According to a recent complaint from Warzone players, one of the most annoying criminals in this regard is the Satchel Armor item. Armor Satchels were added to the game near the end of April.
They prove to be an invaluable asset in Warzone, particularly in the later parts of a match. These backpacks allow players to carry additional armor plates for their character.
These additional plates provide soldiers with much more protective protection than normal and make it easier for them to withstand a little more punishment than usual.
However, most of the time, players find that they are accidentally picking up extra ammunition or other nearby items, rather than what they specifically need.
As one Reddit user explained: “From a dead enemy, it is frustrating to pick up your armor bag. No, I don’t want the pistol ammunition! I’d like the huge armor wallet, that should be easy to pick up, cheers! anxiety standing there trying to pick one up!”
Furthermore, they described it as the “hardest thing” in the game and said that it is not completely limited to Armor Satchels.
While another user points out that simply walking on an armor plate will equip it for players who don’t have it, the fact is that the looting animation takes a little time. This is especially true for people looking to increase their armor beyond the standard amount.
Speaking of animations, many players also have trouble with the animation that occurs when lifting or removing a gas mask. Although it is a potentially life-saving item within the game, many players have simply forgotten to even try to grab them. This is because putting one temporarily freezes the player’s character, leaving it open to attack.
However, as a nifty gamer recently demonstrated, gas masks can be an invaluable part of a long survival strategy. A Reddit user by the name of schmayward made waves when they posted a clip of themselves simply camping out next to one of the Battlefield Purchase Stations towards the end of a match. As the gas ending the match began to shut down, schmayward simply used the cash they had looted during the match to buy one gas mask after another. Gas leaked safely and Schmayward sat tight as his remaining opponents fell like flies, Schmayward winning the match.
However, it was determined that schmayward was not cheating. Other players actually applauded the victory, saying it had been won because Schmayward would not have had the necessary funds for those gas masks if they had not already made many deaths.
Meanwhile, Infinity Ward has made it very clear that it will not allow cheats to thrive in Call of Duty: Warzone. Still, it certainly seems like there are little bugs that indirectly trick players.
In other words, while Armor Satchels are one of the biggest criminals in item pickup attempts, item pickup mechanics remains an issue across the board.
Hopefully this issue will be addressed in the next game update. Infinity Ward and Activision recently announced that the next season of Call of Duty: Warzone would be delayed until an unknown date. This was a bummer, because it has been theorized that the next update could be linked to a new Black Ops game, perhaps even the rumored Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War. Perhaps the delay will give Infinity Ward time to tackle the growing list of things to fix in the game.
Call of Duty: Warzone is already a successful game, but there are numerous quality of life improvements that could make it even better.
