Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how The Developer Labs collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (thedeveloperlabs.com), purchase or trial our software products (including “Site Health & Accessibility Pro,” a Framer plugin), or otherwise interact with our services (together, the “Services”).

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Trial registration: first name, last name, and email address, when you start a free trial of our Framer plugin.
  • Purchases: billing name, email address, and payment-related information collected through our checkout (see Section 4 — we do not store your full card details ourselves).
  • Support requests: anything you send us directly, such as emails to our support address.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • License and site identification: when you activate a trial or a paid license, we record the domain and/or Framer project identifier of the site the license is registered to, so we can verify the license is being used on the correct site. This is a technical identifier, not content from your design or website.
  • IP address: we log a one-way hashed (not reversible, not stored in raw form) version of the IP address associated with license activation and validation requests, for abuse prevention and rate-limiting. Request logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
  • Standard website/cookie data: our website and checkout, built on WordPress and WooCommerce, use cookies for core functionality (e.g. keeping your cart and login session working). See Section 8.

2.3 What we deliberately do NOT collect

  • We do not receive, store, or have access to your Framer project’s design content, layout, or any data about the pages you scan. All scanning performed by the plugin happens locally, inside the Framer plugin itself — scan results never leave your device or get sent to our servers.
  • We do not store your full payment card number, CVV, or other complete payment credentials — these are handled directly by our third-party payment processor(s) (see Section 4).
  • We never store your license key in a way that is casually retrievable even by us — see Section 5.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Create, activate, and validate your trial or license, and lock it to the correct site/domain.
  • Process payments and fulfill purchases (through our payment processor).
  • Send transactional emails: license keys, trial confirmations, purchase receipts, and renewal notices.
  • Provide customer support when you contact us.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use of trials or licenses.
  • Maintain and improve the Services, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

4. Payment processing

Payments made through thedeveloperlabs.com are processed via WooCommerce and our integrated third-party payment processor(s). When you make a purchase, your payment details are submitted directly to that processor under its own privacy policy and security standards; we do not receive or store your full card number.

5. How we protect license keys

License keys are stored using industry-standard cryptographic techniques: primarily as a one-way (non-reversible) hash used to validate your key, plus, separately, an encrypted copy used only to display your key back to you or to our support staff when needed (for example, if you’ve lost your key). This encrypted copy is protected by server-side secrets and is not accessible in plain text through normal means.

6. Data retention

  • License and account records are kept for as long as your license is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting, support, and legal purposes.
  • Request/activity logs (used for abuse prevention) are automatically deleted after 90 days.
  • You may request deletion of your personal information as described in Section 9, subject to our legitimate need to retain certain records (e.g. transaction records for tax/accounting compliance).

7. Sharing your information

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Services — for example, our hosting provider, email delivery provider, and payment processor — each bound to use your information only to provide those services to us.
  • Legal or safety reasons — if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we’ll notify you if this materially changes how your information is handled.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies required for core functionality (shopping cart, checkout session, login state), provided by WordPress and WooCommerce. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent checkout from working correctly.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

If you’re located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with its own data protection framework (e.g. GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar regional laws), you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive data at rest, hashed storage of license keys and IP addresses, and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12. International data transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than your own. By using the Services, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g. by email or a notice on our site).
